Change the way files are listed

I want to change the way the files are listed in a folder to that every folder I open will the display the newest file by default, is that possible?

Open up the folder and select View > Details. Click on the column heading "Date Modified", that will sort it so that your newest files are listed at the top. Click on Tools menu > Options > click on the View tab. Click on the button "Apply to All Folders". Click OK.
