Routing and Remote Access/VPN problems
I am trying to set up a client with VPN access on Windows Server 2003 Web Edition. The problem I'm having though is when I turn on Routing and Remote Access I loose internet connection. When that service is not on I am able to use Remote Desktop to connect to the computer and there are no issues with internet access.
I have tried going to network connections and adding an advanced connection and setting up a VPN that way but it never seems to work that way. Has anyone ever had that kind of problem or know what I am doing wrong here. I have googled this and I don't get any relevant links. Thanks in advance, --Daniel |

Do you want to access your Win Server 2003 from your client machine ?
Which OS are you using on your client machine? |

Yes I will need them to access the server because they need to run the software that is on it.
There will be no more than five clients running XP. Technically they don't need the internet, but why would the internet stop working because of Routing and Remote Access. When I query google about this problem the most relevant searches start talking about split tunneling. I have setup many VPN's before but this is the first time that turning on Routing and Remote Access has killed the internet. |

Do you have your client machines and winserver2003 in LAN environment or your client machine is at home and trying to access the WinServer 2003 in Office remotely?
If the internet is disconnecting then you should contact your ISP and ask him why this is happening? |
