Remote desktop problem

Hi, I have a pc with windows xp pro, this pc has some mapped network folders to driver letters, the problem is that when I connect to the pc using remote desktop from another pc, and I go back to the pc, and try to access to any share resource, it display a message that the connection can not be done, like if the remote connection is hang, note that to terminate the remote connection I use start - log off, then I have to restart the pc to have access to the network drives again.

Did you setup Remote Access from the computer you want to remote to?
Right click on My Computer->Properties->Remote tab->check Remote Desktop->add user to allow to connect.

Make sure you select the correct options before you connect to the other computer. (e.g. Bring all drive to this computer)

If you face problems even after puting check on "allow users to remotely connect to this computer" in the remote tab of System Properties. Then make sure that on that computer ,the firewall doesnot block the remote access.

To find that out, just go to the control panel---> windows security---> firewall.
In firewall click on the exception tab and see if there is a check on "remote desktop".

If there is no check ,just put one there and click ok.

You shouldnot have problem than in accessing the computer remotely.

there is no problem with the remote desktop function, the problem is that I can`t access the network units locally after using remote desktop from another pc.
