XP problem
My sons computer keeps shutting down after only being on a few minutes.
When it is turned back on it goes through the checking of the hard drive than goes into windows . A windows message pops up with a windows problem and do I want to send a report have sent the report but of course haven`t heard anything back . This is the technical explanation of the problem or as near as I can figure it out. C:\ Docume~ 1\Owner|Locals~ 1\Temp\WERe 93d diroo\Mini 070307_ 22 dmp C:\Docume~1|Owner|Locals~1\Temp\WERe93d dir00\systemdata.xml The other one is : BCCode 1000008E Bcp1:C0000005 BCP2 8043426C BCP3:F3770C8C BCP4 0000000 OSBer: 5_1_2600 SP:2_0 Producet 768 Think that is correct the directly above is the main message than i Press details and get the other one. Computer isn`t the best but serves the purpose is a WINFast has 1gb memory and 120gb hard drive have checked the hard drive it is fine and memory seems to be as well. One thing do find the cpu and memory seems to be hot to the touch when I shut computer off and go inside. Although the fans are all working. Read some other problem on the computer about windows shutting down all the time but wasn`t sure if this was the same problem. Thanks Hope you can give me some advice. |

What does it have for a power supply and video card?
Go into control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery, and uncheck restart on error. See if it bluescreens next time, read the bluescreen for clues, specifically a stop error code. |

Once again you have helped me soon as I did the uncheck restart on error and turned the computer off the blue screen came up and told me that it was a hardware problem which happened to be the integrated sound system it is kaput so once I unistalled the drivers and removed it from the bios put in another sound card now all is fine. Thanks again for your help. Seems I can always count on you people.

I think I quit too soon I do not have the computer here anymore but got a call tonight from my son saying it shut down again they haven`t used it since I sent it back. I did get a new power system now it is really good fan and power system. but also took the sound card off the bios and put in another sound card and all was working fine. I went in on my google page and googled the error message I had been getting and it said it was a problem with xp and no one seemed to know how to get rid of it everyone keeps changing and buying everything I have checked everything out and all is said to be working fine. I thought fire fox might be the problem but re downloaded it cleaned registry and everything I can think off not sure what else can be done if any one has any ideas would like to know what they are. Seems each time I change something another message comes up never seems to have the same numbers.
