bfs freeze while on xp

i just updated to windows xp 2 weeks ago and while playing bf2 with special forces pack it starts to freeze, than plays again and i die. is the any way of overcoming the freeze?

Hello and Welcome to PCMechanic

Ther eare at least 70 (if not more) additional updates to d/l after the installation of SP2, have you d/l these?

Have you checked for updates or patches for the game?

Check the error messages by looking in the Event Viewer (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer).
