So when you click Restore my Active Desktop it does not restore?

There could be many reasons why this is happening. The first that comes to mind is malware. Try booting into Safe Mode and give you system a good cleaning with your anti-virus, spybot, adaware, and use cleanup!
Also you can try turning the active desktop on and off and rebooting several times.

HI

Are you saying that using Safe Mode is better for using Spybot and Spyblaster and Nod32?

That's news to me. Just wondering.....

You dont use SpywareBlaster as a scanner like Spybot & Adaware, it is to prevent the installation of spyware and other potentially unwanted software. All is needed is to keep it updated. Unlike other programs, SpywareBlaster does not have to remain running in the background.
And yes it is always better to scan a computer in Safe Mode because Safe Mode is the Windows diagnostics mode. When you start the computer in Safe mode, only the specific components that are needed to run the operating system are loaded. No programs load and most times the malware and viruses are not active.
