VERY annoying program
I've recently been coming to my computer only to find a million ad popups on screen at once. I was thinking that this must have been some kind of virus, but after a scan with the most recent virus definition files, nothing showed up. I did however remember pressing Control-Alt-Del and seeing a program called msbb.exe. After closing it, I discovered that the advertisements stopped and I was able to close them all. I looked in the registry and found a entry for them under HKEY_Current_User/Software/180Solutions/msbb, so I did a search on the net for 180solutions and came up with their home page here. There is no entry under "Install/Remove software" in Control Panel, so do I just remove the program from windows explorer? This program, msbb.exe, is located in my c:/windows folder and in another folder called c:/windows/Fleok. It seems that certain web pages "activate" the program and make the ads pop up every 30 seconds or so automatically. What can I do to ensure that this program isn't installed again without my consent as this one obviously was?

Hi Tiretool,
Did you run a scan with Ad-aware? It could spyware that is sometimes installed through web banners. By the way, did you get the RH5.2 box I sent? How's the server coming along?

Tire if you use IE 5.0 and up then go to TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS >ADVANCED and uncheck "Enable Install on DEMAND" in IE 6.0 this has now even been split to diable the install of programs from third party Software ..
HTH
