VPN logon prompt keeps bugging me!

Hey gang, long time no see. I've got an issue that ive had a hard time figuring out. We have a VPN connection at my work which is handy when I have to do minor work which involve the servers at the office. So i setup a VPN connection on my home PC. however I notice that when I browse some sites I am suddenly greeted with the VPN logon prompt. I sure didn't ask for it. Any thoughts? Tried it on both IE and FF, but no difference, although one thing that I found of interest was that in FF, when I changed the advanced setting for how FF connects to the internet, I set it to automatically discover proxies, that prompt seems to increase in frequency (as opposed to just occasional occurrences on some websites).

TIA

i apologize in advance because this isn't really going to help you.
i had the same problem and it annoyed me very much.
i uninstalled the vpn and installed it on a second machine.
that solved the problem. not helpful, i know.
sorry.

Yeah, thats another point I found interesting. I notice that on my laptop, that problem never arises. How can that problem be so machine specific? I didn't use any particular settings on my VPN?

TIA
