Funky Word File

Hey all,

I need to open this word file. I think someone may have written using Vista, but I cannot view it with my version of word. Can someone figure out how to make this viewable to me? Thanks!!!

I would have to say that it is not an actual word doc file but has been renamed as such.

Exactly! One reason is for security... and the other is that I've *heard* that the latest-n-greatest version of Word is Not backward compatible. That should have nothing to do with Vista, unless Microsoft shot it's self in the foot and made it Vista ready only... Either way, I'm not going to try opening it.

Not opening the files as I have trust issues. No offence at Threadstarter.

Office 2007 is backward compatible with all other older version of Office but the user must save the file as a .doc and not.docx which is Office Word 2007 default.

I run Office 2007 on my XP machine and have to constantly remember to save files in the older format; if someone knows how to change the default it would be great.

Also, user without Office 2007 can still view the newer formats by downloading the following:
