I just replaced a HDD in a Compaq desktop that my workplace deemed it easier to replace than fix. After a few weeks of it sitting around my manager said you want it....take it home. After installing the WD1200JB hdd I booted with XP Pro in the CD-Rom and voila......running like a dream. P4 2.0Ghz with a 21" Compaq CRT monitor for around $180 with XP Pro, MS Office 2007 Pro and the hdd. The Compaq splash screen is still there on initial startup, but just hit esc at bootup and it will disapear!
P.S. Anyone want to buy a PC! Cost a fortune to ship that monitor, though
