Cool XP to Vista Gui Transformation Pack?

Hi Everyone

I am reading in the June 29th newsletter the following: If you run Windows XP but would still like the benefits of Microsoft Windows Vista GUI, here's a transformation pack that allows you to do just that. Downloading this transformation pack, how will my computer change? I currently run XP Pro on a 3.0 Pentium with 1 gig ram. I use my computer for surfing, word processing, email, and photo editing and storage. I have no challenges with the way my machine is working (fast and reliable thanks to multitudes of info supplied by you at PCM).

What is Vista 'GUI'? What would be the benefits of running it? How will it effect my current performance? Will I be able to offload it and return to Pro without negative effects? What else should I consider before downloading this 'transformation pack'?

I know it sounds kinda dumb to be asking all these questions when I have no concerns about my OS that is working flawlessly but I am a sucker when someone offers something for free.

The GUI is Graphical User Interface. It's what you see when working with the computer. Vista came with a more enhanced GUI that is more pretty(I think).

The drawbacks is that it could decrease performance since it's more graphical. There also could be bugs. I would think you could uninstall it but since I don't know the specifics of the program I don't know.

I have used the Vista Transformation pack with good success. It is low on resources and can be removed in add/remove programs. you can try it here http://www.majorgeeks.com/Vista_Tran...ack_d4924.html
