converting FAT to FAT32

Is there a way we could directly convert FAT partition to FAT32 without formating?
Pls note that on this FAT partition, winxp is installed.

XP cannot natively perform a drive conversion to FAT32 without formatting. If you've got Win98 lying around and have the time to perform an installation .. then you can convert it using the tools explained here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307881

Else you might need 3rd party software like: Acronis Disk Director
