I have had no problems formatting in the past, I don't know if it is new windows updates or what, but I stick in my windows reinstall disk to format the computer, and it says it cannot because windows on the disk is older than the one on the comp...I never had this issue before, even if I had updated windows. So how do I format this hdd?

If you're running XP you can do it from within Windows by using Disk Management.

Yes, if he has 2 HDDs in the same Computer, he can boot his computer from the OS in 1 HDD, and then use it to format the other HDD completely.
Disk Managment option is pretty much better . |
