No password for a newly acquired XP Pro box.

Just acquired a Celeron 478 box that is running XP Pro. The people that had it before couldn't get it to boot correctly so it would not support keyboard or mouse. Turned out to be a bad stick of ram. No one knows the windows password and can't get into the system to even check the computer out. What I'd like to do is re-use this O.S. after an upgrade or repair. Is there any way to get in and do what's needed to do this? Have an oem disc and this system looks to have an oem version also. There is no product key on outside of box.

Would check with the people you got the system from to see if they have any CDs for it and any manuals. The Windows CD and COA may be found then do a clean install. Check inside of the PC, the Windows sticker may be inside of a cover.
Any password hacking discussion is NOT allowed on PCMech.

Thanks. That all has already been pursued and has turned up ziltch. Not worth any more effort so it'll become an Ubuntu box and donated. Thanks again.
