XP doesn't have an xorg.conf file (unless you have used something like Cygwin/X, in which case I would recommend looking on forums for that program).

xorg.conf controls a lot of aspects of a computer running Linux that uses the X window system.

because look im trying to have my resolution set to 640x480 but they dont have that option because I dont think the resolution is understood by X windows,so i think i need to add the the proper modeline http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...72/8686868.jpg because theres no option to pick 640x480 and i need it there

Windows does not use the xorg.conf file for setting up resolutions. Only Linux distributions do. For your issue, check out this information on Intel graphics: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022544.htm You may need to update your display drivers to show the other resolutions.

I also edited your picture to a link for dialup users.

Most likely it is your monitor. Most LCD's nowadays don't have an option for anything below 800x600.
