Admin Account

I had a password that was on a computer for a long time for administrator. I added a new account that was an administrator with a new password. Now my original adminstrator account does not show up on the login window. Can anyone help me figure out what happened to it? How can I get that original Administrator account back without losing all my settings? I can't seem to get into the new Administrator Account with the password I set, it is not accepting it. I am down until I figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Heather

Simply booting up in Safe Mode will bring it back in view....

Thank you for your quick response. I didn't realize it would be that simple. Is there an easy way to duplicate the true admin account to another account so that it could basically be a mirror of it and then from there I can take out what I want, rather that start from scratch and build an account up.

If you are using theWelcome screen to log on to your system, (and that is the default in Windows XP, then all you have to do to access your original administrator account is to hit the CTRL+ALT+DEL combo twice when on the Welcome screen. This will bring up the classic Windows logon box, where you can type in the username (Adminitrator for the default system administrator account created by XP at install), and then your password to log into the account.
