Can't uninstall programs

I'm the administrator of our school's server. I need to uninstall Norton AV, but when I go to Control Panel | Add remove programs, all it does is say 'Please wait while the list is populated' and never shows any programs.

Any ideas of why this would be?

Well first off, you need to download a software to remove Norton applications.
For your other problem:
-does it say the Add remove programs have been time out, don't forget it could take time.

I've had it on for over half an hour and the same message has been on all that time. I've even re-started and tried it again and the same thing has happened.

Hey jepeters

Here's a link to help you get rid of Norton: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...05033108162039

I can't help you with the Add/Remove programs problem specifically however.

Do use the Symantec Norton Removal Tool after you have a new AV ready to install. Free downloads & very good AVG Free or Avast. Do you have add/remove in Safe Mode?

Thanks. I got the program removed using the Norton removal program. Also, I left the server on at the 'populating list' screen, and the next morning the programs were listed. Don't know why it should have taken that long.
