Back arrow

My friend runs XP.
He noticed recently that the "back" arrow has disapeared in internet explorer.
This makes it difficult to go back to a previous website.

Has anyone any idea's on this?

Thank you

Jack

Which version of IE?
Is the Forward button still there? If so, is it possible he dragged the IE Window off the screen?

If it is IE6 (maybe 7 aswell). Right button on the bar which contains the buttons and choose "Customise..."
In here you can add and remove buttons. Maybe he can just re-add the back button!?
