Windows 2000 Pro/XP comparison needed.
Haven't been into computing for long enough to have used Windows 2000. When using the computer, for recently developed computing demands, does it "fall down" in any significant way?
Have been around in this community for maybe a little more than a year, and I know that several of you are still using it and have seen no real need to upgrade to XP (or now Vista). The reason I'm asking is I've just acquired some unopened copies (w/keys) and need to know 2000 Pro's strengths and pitfalls. I'm suspecting that there are some security items (or is that mostly MS BS) and plug and play issues? Six copies to use. (Happy with my little find!) |

The thing I didn't like was how long w2k took to boot up, but other than that since you have them you might as well use them, I would be sure to get the latest service pacs and updates for the install after I had then loaded.
