Creative Sound Card not working

I have a Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS PCI card. I am running Windows XP SP2. The sound was working fine until recently. I have updated the drivers, the Device Manager says all is working and there are no conflicts. Whenever I load iTunes or Windows Media, there is no sound. iTunes says there is a problem with my audio. The card seems to be fine; I have a mike hooked up to is and it works through the speakers.

I have gone to the Creative website and their knowledge database and user groups none of which was very helpful. Does anyone have some suggestions or thoughts as to what might have caused the sound to drop. The only thing I have been doing is updating with windows update.

I am running a dual processor Intel system with an ATI TV Wonder card, Tyan motherboard, and SCSI. Two hard drives -- one for programs and the other for data/content.

It may be the drivers. When I updated my drivers from their Web site I had problems too. I un-installed them and re-installed the drivers from the original CD and everything was good again.
