Edit "Open With" ??

How do you edit the "Open With" list(s) in XP Pro SP2?

Example: When I use Open With on a JPEG, I get multiple program choices making it cumbersome to use the one I want.

The other programs are valid programs but I don't use them often. I can either delete the exta entries, or even simply move my program of choice to the top of the list.

Anyone know how?

Simple enough, let's take the extension .jpg for example .. open up your registry editor. Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.jpg\OpenWithList
You can delete the entire string value (both string value and data value) and it goes away from the list.

If you want to move your program to the top just change the order of the MRU list.

No joy ...

No problem finding .jpg but the list doesn't match...?? ...and I also, for giggles, changed around the MRUList, but the right click OpenWith list didn't change.

I double checked the extensions and even looked at the derivatives (.jpe .jpeg, etc) but didn't find a match to the regedit OpenWith list.

I took two screen shots and "glued" them to gether below: hopefully that'll help.
