What exactly do you mean by "using one PC as two"? You could hook up both your monitors to the same video card and use the second monitor as additional desktop space. Meaning that you can have applications open up only on the second monitor. You dont need a second keyboard or mouse for it. read: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u.../monitors.mspx

Or if you want to run a second operating system (almost like a second computer) you could consider something like Virtual PC http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...c/default.mspx .. again single mouse & keyboard.

wanted more of a two kb two mouse setup, but after doing research i dont think it is at all possible, i may just have to use the cc and build another pc for her, i can probably do it for under 500 may even just buy a refurb from a local mom n pop pc store she just wants to surf the web so i dont need anything fancy.

I don't think what you want to do is possible (But it's a cool idea :-)

If she just wants to surf the web, your cheapest bet is probably an entry level Dell. Since they come with Windows and a monitor (and sometimes a printer), the cost is quite reasonable.

Only downside is you can't upgrade it much (you can add ram and a harddrive, but that's about it) so if she gets into extreme gaming, she'll need a whole new rig :-)

What you want is called a "reverse kvm switch". Someone else here tried one a while back but had several issues making it work the way he wanted. Don't remember who it was. Anyway, here's a link for ya.
