xp on main hdd vista on second

i wanted to use virtual pc to run both vista and xp at the same time, i want to play with vista before i make a comitment i was told about virtual pc on another post, but i cant get it to boot vista thats installed on the second hdd. do i need to use my vista disk to use virtual pc or can i use just the installation that i have?

You need to install Vista through a guest machine. Virtual PC cannot access any existing installations .. so you will need to install VPC, start a new machine .. install Vista within it.
