after moving all my computer harware to a new case and switching the graphics card(radeon 2600XT), all the sudden my computer will not allow me to standby OR hibernate. All the options in the power options menu have dissapeared and i cannot edit them. I am running windows XP.

first give the specs all of the hardware and the new graphics instead of the radeon 2600XT...... do you mean control panel>power options??...... if so what did you change or modify before you switched the parts from one case to another???

Thank you!

I meant that the radeon 2600XT is the new video card. I will check the other parts when i get home. Yes control panel then power options. I changed nothing before i switched the parts.

I've found this is usually solved by installing/upgrading your chipset drivers and/or "system" software (system software usually applies to Dell computers).
