cookies

ok, I'm a win98se operator, my wifes laptop has xp.
I ran an adaware scan (free version) and found 1033 cookies that are dataminers...but the program won't delete them, maybe because it's the free version.
so, what I want to know is how do I find all of these cookies? I went to windows/temp internet files/cookies but only found one .dat file...as in win98, I tried changing the folder option setting to view all files and folders, but this didn't help.
Is there a way to manually delete cookies in winxp and how would I do this?
thanks
(and is does anyone know of a free program that will do what adaware does only actually delete the found files)?

Yes, I beleieve in Win 98 its C:\Windows\System\cookies though I may have missed a piece of the file path.

Ccleaner will clean out all of that and more. If you need help running it, post back and I'll walk you through it.

NO, the free version of AdAware SE is fully functional and should remove just about anything it finds. Try running spybot search and destroy as well. These two programs cross over and often pick up things the other doesn't.
