Legal Windows Install?
Hi, I have a problem with a failed hard drive in my laptop ( as you may have seen from my previous threads).
Because the laptop did not come supplied with the Windows CD do I need to buy a new Windows disk or is it legally OK for me to install Windows from another disk and just use my serial from the label on the laptop and would this work anyway? Thanks Tony |

Yes that is ok. It's the KeyCode that's important.
BUT, your cd key is probably an OEM key. You'll need an OEM cd in order for it to work. Dell for example will probably give you a cd or charge ten bucks.
