Set as desktop background doesnt work

When I right click a picture and hit set as desktop background, nothing happens.... Anybody know how to fix this, or even what's wrong? Thanks.

If you mean clicking on the APPLY button to set the desktop, then it should change unless there is setting someplace that is set to make the change after a restart.

The desktop background picture is generated from an image stored on your computer, you must download and save the picture before you can use it as a desktop background.

-sigh- no, I'm not an idiot, i've been doing it this way for years. It's supposed to save a copy of the image somewhere i cant be bothered to remember, and set it as my wallpaper. but when i try recently, nothing happens. It's worked in the past. this is a recent change.

Probably a condition caused by "lake effect" or effluent discharge in the Grand River. Either will emit invisible fumes that serve to confuse computer Wallpaper installations. Or you may live too close to that new Marriott hotel and it's blocking all the solar energy!

Truthfully, I haven't a clue what is causing your trouble. I just wanted to harrass a fellow Grand Rapidian.

Have you done anything to your computer recently? Install new hardware or software?

Have you scanned for viruses or malware with updated definitions?

Are you using a wallpaper manager of some sort?

haha yeah, it's got to be a problem with my OS somewhere... I did make a recent hard drive swap, but i used imaging tools to keep everything the same. Everything else worked fine, and I'm not even sure that thats when this started happening.
