illegal operation
Hi, a friend of mine is running windows ME[ I know dont laugh], When he tries to open a document in word it says" this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down".
Any suggestion as to how resurrect this problem. [As for the ME I believe a new comp with XP is on the way] |

It could be anything - and hard to troubleshoot without a more specific error message. I'd start by uninstalling and reinstalling Word.

Does this happen with other software as well ? If yes might be a m/b or memory issue ... more info is needed
