allowing users to edit network settings
hi
at work we're runnning windowsXp on the machines and a windows SBS 2003 with all the stuff that entails (domain, active directory... ) there are a number of users who have laptops that they use when out&about on location and sometimes they encounter a non-dhcp network Is there anny way to allow for users to edit thier own network settings without opening the floodgates??? and if so where do i do this? greetz coro |

I have tried over the years but the best thing is generally to make them a local (not domain) administrator on their computer. This gives them the ability to install programs, etc. but it is really difficult to get things to work properly with some programs and the ability to change settings like you want.
