Remove password on Windows XP startup

I am running Windows XP Home with all the updates. Every time I start or reboot the computer Windows asks me for a password. I am the only person on this computer. How can I stop windows from asking for a password and allow windows to boot completely on its own? Thanks.

if it is windows then go to control panel and edit the user account to not require it. Use the 'remove the password' link once in the user account.

Pesonally- I'd leave the password even if youare only user, no gurantees you will always be there so stop some one form booting and going to dodgey sites and getting you infected.

Not only that, but by having a password in place, you are at least forcing some no-good-doers to use things like brute force attacks to get in. It is another line of security, right?

Thanks for your help. Would you still use a password if the computer is a desktop and there is no one else in the house?

I would, because of what I mentioned. If someone was trying to remotely connect to your computer, they'd have one more thing to deal with. Those who are darn good at this won't be slowed down, but on the other hand...
