Uninstall question

Hello. First post. Yes, please help me get my geek on!

I am replacing my monitor calibration device and software. Before installing Macbeth's Eye-One Display 2, I need to uninstall Pantone ColorVision Spyder. However, it does not appear in the Add/Remove programs list. A check of all related files shows no uninstall utility, nor is there one on the CD that came with the Spyder.

How can I safely remove this from my computer before installing another color calibration device/software?

Thank you kindly.

If it put anything in your startup - either in the start menu or in the registry (you can use msconfig to check that) - delete it. Then delete its folder and any icons. Then download CCleaner, install it, and run its registry cleaning tool.

This is not official - it's just what I would do lacking any official guidance. Make a system restore point before starting.

- create system restore point - check
- delete from start menu - check
- delete from registry - check, sort of. Can't remove it from the startup list in msconfig, but went to common startup folder and deleted from there. Still appears in msconfig list - unchecked.
- delete folder from Programs, and icons - check
- CCleaner is new to me. Off to try to find it. Thank you for your help.

One of the items in the CCleaner toolbox is a generic Uninstall utility.

Anyways...all done. Thanks.
