xp offline files goes offline by itself

hello all,

we have a 2003 domain with two domain controllers.

about 10 of our systems are using offline files to cache their my documents folder, which is redirected to their homes drive.

at random times during the day the systems wil go into offline mode. while its offline if they try to access any other network share they will be presented with an empty folder, note it does not throw an error saying it cannot find the network path.

the user only gets the ability to see the files in the network shares after they click the offline files button in the system tray and then click ok to syncronize.

note that during this time the rest of the network stays fully active, systems that do not have offline files enabled will not see an issue.

I had a similiar problem were a user was getting an error when sync and would randomly loss access to all the network shares on the server. I had to actually disable the offline files to there home directory and set it back up to sync again. Once you get them to sync make sure they do when the user logs off, if that is what you want.

i ended up disabling it on all the desktops using a group policy

there is only one laptop user who needs offline files, ill try turning it off and back on to see if it fixes itself... oterhwise they are simply going to have to live with it.
