Hi All:
When I double click a JPG or GIF picture it opens minimized (small window), then in about 5 or more seconds it opens a little further (with Tool Bar & Task Bar), then in another 5 or so seconds it will open to Full Screen. Sometimes I have to manually click each step. It seems to be taking longer and longer so I thought maybe you can help me resolve this problem. BMP's open fast and maximized. Sometimes the JPG's and GIF's will open full screen, but not very often. Your help will be very much appreciated, and thanks ahead of time. ============================================ System Info for WinXP Pro Computer Motherboard: Chaintech S845PE Socket 478 ATX with Sound & LAN CPU: Pintium4 2.40GH 533 MHz Socket 478 OS: WinXP Pro with Service Pack 2, Auto Updates Ram: 2 Sticks DDR PC2100 = 512MB Ram Video Card: Chaintech 64MB GeForce 2 Pro AGP Power Supply: Arrow 500 Watts Cooler Fans: On CPU, Chipset, RAM, Hard Drives & Case Hard Drives: 2 WD 80GB partitioned into 4 partitions Cables: All round Mouse: Logitech Cordless Wheel on PS/2 Port S&D Spybot 1.4 Ad-Aware SE Personal Build 1.06r1 Reg Clean 4.1a Build 7364.1 CCleaner v2.01.507 AVG Free Edition 7.5.472 Windows Defender Definition Version 1.22.3405.0 Windows CleanUp Version 2.0.0.0 Privacy History Eraser Version 1.4

What application are you using to open the files?
Might try right clicking on one the files and select Open With->Choose Internet Explorer

Hi EzyStvy & mairving:
I should have told you that I'm using Explorer, also I keep my browser cache cleared every day or so. I also have Explorer set to Maximixe. This problem started a few months ago, but it's getting worse. |

For grins try to "open with" and select MS Win Pic and Fax Viewer to see what happens.

Hi EzyStvy:
Well with MS Win Pic and Fax Viewer they open full screen every time, but of course it has the border of that viewer around the picture, and I don't like that. I like the way Explorer opens to full screen without any borders, that is when it works :-( Did this test give you any idea why Explorer don't open full screen all the time? |
