Windows XP Installer CONSTANTLY A PROBLEM
My work computer is this POS Dell with windows XP. Im pretty sure it came with XP, but there may have been a time when it had to be reinstalled from the hardware taking a crap.
The problem is that EVERY time I open a program, webpage, application, ANYTHING, a windows installer dialog box opens and says "Preparing to Install". So I've given each program time to do it's thing, but the box comes up every time, and if you hit cancel, you're still sitting there for 15-20 seconds waiting for it to go away... Does anyone know a way to fix this? |

Need to talk to your company IT staff. I think you're a victim of policies that they are applying where they are forcing everything to come from a server. IF so, you're probably stuck with it.

This is the only computer in the building that does this... and the company is too small for an IT staff. I can be fairly sure that I'm not running off of a server other than our point of sale program.
Any ideas? |
