Switch User not working
I have the XP Home edition. When I click on Start/Log Off/Switch User nothing happens. The hard drive activity light flashes for a bit then goes out. The only way that I can actually switch users is to click Start/Log Off/Log Off and then select another user.
Can anyone help me with this? I am NOT using "Fast User Switching" Is there something in System Services that I need to look at? TIA |

You need to use fast user switching, that is what switch user is.

Are you logged in as administrator when trying to change the setting? Only an admin account can set the fast user switching option.

Have you checked the services to make sure they're not disabled? Go to Start, then Run, and type in services.msc and hit Okay. In that list that pops up, make sure "Fast User Switching" and "Terminal Services" are both set to either Manual or Automatic. If either one is disabled, right click where it says Disabled and select Properties from the dropdown menu. Change the Startup Type to Manual or Automatic and Okay your way back out of there. Then go back to User Accounts and try to enable the Fast User Switching option again.
