HP proliant ML350

Hi

just installed a new windows 2003 Server image onto this new server and everytime i boot up i hear two beeps in quick sucession then i am faced with the black dos screen with a choice of either 2003 Server or the Recovery Console. If I choose windows all is well and it boots up fine, i have set it up as a PDC as i am about to replace an old NT box with this one. Everything appears ok but if i reboot then i get the dos screen, any ideas?

Edit the boot.ini to get rid of the recovery console choice.

I personally would leave it be, but you can ensure that Windows is the default if you take no action and set the timeout down to 3 seconds in case you DO need to use the console. If Server 2K3 is like 2K you can do all this in CP, system, advanced, startup and recovery and not have to mess with the boot.ini.

Hi GLC

thanks for replying, i did ponder about editing the boot.ini but as i have spent some time setting it all up i was reluctant to change anything which may impact on recovery options etc. I'll take your advice and leave it be as once its installed i won't be turning it off.

I would at least look in startup and recovery options and set the default and timeout.
