This is my first time ever to install an OS.
I plan on assembling my own pc but i want to know first how to install an OS to be safe.
I wondering how I should go about it..
So i open my pc and then what?
I also read something about partitions. What's that?
Thanks.

Here's another good web site to bookmark: Windows Reinstall...has instructions for doing clean first time installs too.

PC Mech has a "Build Your PC" tutorial.

Here's another one.

Oh, you don't have to open your PC to install the OS.
