Admin on my system

When I set up XP Pro I list 1 user (steve) I went in to change some start up setting in msconfig, startup tab but it wouldn't let me make changes because i was not the admiistrator.
I then did a logoff the system and looked to find only steve, nothing more.

When I look in permissions section of regedit area I see my computer name sam-1 as administrator. I can't for the life of me change to administrator of this system to change settings in the startup tab.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

When you look in Contol Panel->User Accounts does it say you are an Admin?

Boot up in safe mode and then reboot? Do you now see the system admin account?

Ok so I first went to control pannel and see the following:

Steve, Computer administrator
Guest, Guest account is off

Then I did an msconfig to go into safe mode, when I hit apply I get a message that I am not the admin and I can not make a change. I hot ok and make the change a 2nd time and get the same message I am not an admin... But the change goes through and the system comes up in safe mode.

Now in safe mode I see the following:

Steve
Administrator

two seperate icons so I select admin and go into safe mode and do an msconfig. I get the same message that I am not the admin and again 2nd time I do the same change out of safe mode and it takes and I reboot into regular mode again.

I then went into control pannel, look and only see Steve and Guest.

Weird

Thanks for your help, do you make anything from this?

Steve
