RAM missing when downloading semi-big file.

Basically my system crawed when I start using Torrent to download over 600+MB file. Only started to happen recently when I download things from Mininova. I also download similar file but from a different tracker, private, then it does not happen.

WHen I looked up the Task Manager, it shows nothing over 10k of byte used, but my system missed about 75-100K so of RAM-it went from 200-300 down to like 40-60 RAM, which I use 2 RAM monitor programs to check. It also easy to see since my system lag like hell.

ANy idea?

Btw, this system only has about 448 RAM

Your computer needs more RAM.

What kind of computer is this? Home built or name brand?

What are the complete system specs and the OS you're using?

HP WIndow XP SP2
AMD Athlon 2600+ 2.13Mhz
Intergrated GF 4 MX 64MB, this mean 512-64=448
80gig HD and I only have about 2gig available left : D

I took a look at the Mother and it has exactly two RAM slots, both are occupied with 2x(256MB) DDR something.

The weird thing is that the missing RAM is not recorded to Task Manager list. That mean if I sit down and add up the amount that TM shows that my normal processors use and then compare, then I would short about 75-100K.

You need to add another hard drive for more storage space. When the hard drive that Windows is on has less than 15% free space things can start to get weird.

Task Manager is probably showing you the physical (RAM) and virtual (swap file/paging file) memory amount.

And the slow download is probably related to the site and having high activity.
