XP hangs and/or reboots during cd copy

While copying/ripping a cd to MS Media Player 9 the pc will either just hang or it will reboot. It is a pc with a very clean intall of XP home and all the drivers are UTD. When using Roxio AudioCentral 1.1 it works well. The CPU does not reach over 58 deg's C. On my other pc as described in my signature I can rip just fine. Both pc's are similar.
This is the problem pc as follows:
cpu - amd athlon XP 2000+ 1.6 ghz 27111 ax2000dmt3c agoia 0208xpew
y7859830199 FSB 266mhz 256kb l2 cache 1.75v
mobo - gigabyte ga-7vkml rev 1.1
memory - pc3700 2.5V DDR DIMM 2X512meg
hd - wd1600jb
power - enlight hpc-340-101
video - 3d force b-32plus

Any ideas?
Thanks, FDB

Well it's not the video card. Just removed it and turned on the on board video and it does the same.

And it is not either of the two memory sticks as I just tried one at a time.
Also I was playing the music on the Roxio AudioCentral and the PC just rebooted.
Must be Temp or CPU issues? ???

58C shouldn't be too hot for a problem. You could test that theory easily though. Open up the side of the case and aim a big fan in there to cool things down in a hurry.

I wouldn't rule out the RAM just yet. Try testing each stick with Memtest. www.memtest.org

Also, is the other PC using WMP9 as well? You might consider an update, they are up to 11 now.

Yeah it uses WMP9 also. The WMP11 was on the problem pc and it did the same. I just rolled back to 9 to rule it out. I'll try the cooling plan.
Also I just unplugged each cdrom one at a time. I even unplugged my PCI fire wire card.
I'm going to install some old memory sticks I have.
I'll try the memtest.
Thank you.

It is getting worse. I was watching the temp and listenening to WMP9 music.
I opened the copy music tab and all was well. Bu the very second I clicked the copy music button the speakers buzzed and the computer restarts. Maybe when that part of the memory is used it is an instant knock off. So I'm going to load memtest and get back after the scan.

Well, the memtest shows good memory. I let it run 4 hours to assure as it is a random tester.
Does anybody agree it may be the mobo or the cpu?
