Regseeker Slowdown

I have been using Regseeker for over 3 years, recently it has started to behave oddly.
Instead of scanning steadilly from 0 to 100% it hangs at 44% for a minute and then proceeds to 98% and stops for another minute, then goes to 99% for another minute and then completes OK. Although it hangs at these percntages it is still scanning as it can pick up errors at these pauses. Any ideas as what could cause these hang ups please?

Does rebooting Help?
Are you NOT running anything else at the same time?

Stopped all other programmes running no change, rebooting makes no difference, weird, i mean it still does its job but takes much longer.

Have you done an update to regseeker recently?
In the last few months I have noticed three or four apps that I use regularly have all slowed down, AVG 7.5 free version being the worst, closely followed by spybot.
