Annoying Error Message
From time to time, what I do is I go into my Recovery Software(Acronis), and I hit the Recoverf button to restore my entire computer from it's ghost image, which I have stored on a second drive in my machine. The past couple times I've done that though, Windows has put an error message on my screen. It says something like this:
The System has recovered from a serious error. A log of this error has been created. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. Then it offers a couple of buttons for me to press. I can either choose Send or Don't Send. I don't know why all of a sudden I see this message, when I restore my machine from it's backup image. Never used to see this message. Aren't computers annoying? |

I dont know what OS your running but if its XP heres a few things you can try.
Since it says its been logged try the following: Click start>control panel>administrative tools>event viewer Check system and application to see if there is any related errors associated with the program you was running. If there is read the error message and try clickign the link provided for more information. You can also use that error message to search the net for possible fixes if the windows information isnt that great. You can also try the following: click start>run>type drwatson youll see a window open on your taskbar. Try to run it again and maybe drwatson will see something wrong and give you more information. |

Come to think of it, I may know why this is happening. I just put in a new router, but my ghost image was made with the old router. I only get this error message when I restore my computers backup image. I think there is a setting somewhere in Windows that relates to the old router, and when I restore my computer from the ghost image, Windows now sees the new router, and that is what is causing the error message, and it causes Windows to do an automatic recovery or something.
Makes sense, cuz this error message never came up before with my old router. It only started happening just recently, and the only thing I've changed is I installed the new router. |
