XP Pro Administrator

I am the admin of my system but the system doesn't think I ma. I am trying to close some thing during startup but system says only the admin can do this. Hiw can I get this changed?

When I boot into safe mode it shows an admin but when I go to control pannel, the system lists Steve as the admin. I am Steve so must be the admin? Why can't I change the startup settings?

Well, have you used the default "administrator" account? Or you can run "control userpasswords2" to change your user group. Merry Christmas!

Try adding your account to the power users group.

Power users have less rights than administrator and you will need adminstrative rights to be able to add the rights.

All he wants to do is change his msconfig, im sure you can do this with power users. Also he stated that hes already an admin but the system is stating he isnt. Which is a configuration problem with his user accounts, groups and policies.

I've seen issues like this with msconfig, there is at least one thread here somewhere with a solution.
