Question Computer to Browser connection

Installed FireFox 2.0.0.1 in my Win 98SE computer and gave a "Server Not Found" error. This computer had previously not been on-line. I called my DSL ISP Verizon Tech Support who after many changes and pings determined all was fine except I did not have a connection between my brouser and my computer. They said they could not help me with this issue. Can anyone please help me proceed from here to get my brouser to work?

What exact model modem do you have and how is it connected to the PC? Is your login stored in the modem or are you using connection software?

It's a Westell 327W modem. Computer one is connected by ethernet cable to Port E1 and works fine. The computer that does not connect is on Port E2 by ethernet cable.
I don't know where my login is stored. I set up my connection with the Verizon set up disk.

1. Is the Ethernet adapter in Device Manager and not flagged?

2. Start - Run - winipcfg - ok

Hit "More Info" and choose your Ethernet adapter in the drop box, post the IP address you see.

I ran Winsockfix. My Firefox however, still gives the "Server not found" message.
