windows won't open

Hi, I have a sony vaio sktop computer, model number 28220832 with windows xp. It had all its current updates. My wife had used it, and the screen was struck, would not turn off. I powered it down and then tried to restart it. A screen appeared saying sorry for the inconvience but windows did not start successfully. I used the F8 key and tried starting it in safe mode, start windows normally, last good configuation, enable boot loggig, debugging mode, disable automatic restart, reboot, and safe mode with networking with and with command promp. With ech attempt the screen would go to the windows xp screen, then no the no input ,go to power sve screen, then back to the original message, sorry for the inconvience but windows did not start sucessfully. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well, can you login in Safe Mode? In that environment, you can clean the system, including some unnecessary startup items, and the registry errors. If you can't enter Safe Mode, maybe you should repair install the XP. I think your case mostly because of the registry errors.
