Wierd and Annoying XP Boot Problem
Recently I booted up and the computer stopped at POST. The short story: my primary (XP boot sector) hdd's power cable had popped out. However, before I realized this I already installed XP on my second hdd in a desperate attempt to save data (this is when I discovered that I couldn't access my primary drive). So, now I reinstalled Windows XP on my primary drive and reformatted my secondary hdd and the computer insists it loads a non-existent copy of XP. Hence every time I boot I must press F8 (Asus board) and select the correct hdd. This is entirely frustrating and after reformatting both drives and reinstalled Windows XP. All I can think of is that the boot sector written on the second hdd was never overwritten but I have no idea to access of delete it. Also, how can I set the computer to automatically boot to a specific OS if in the future I dual boot, etc...

If you have two different physical hard drives you might to change the hard drive priority in BIOS.
