wierd rebooting

I just installed win2000pro on an old win ME computer and it keeps rebooting
before the desktop shows up. It does this over and over again. Any ideas?

Try safe mode. If that works, go to control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery - and uncheck "automatically reboot". Next time, it will bluescreen instead of reboot and you can get clues.

If safe mode doesn't work, reformat and reinstall and leave all peripherals disconnected except keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

Which service packs does your installation include? I used to get reboots due to a motherboard driver problem until windows 2000 professional service pack 3.
