Device IO Notification

I just noticed a few days ago I have been getting a Device IO Notification window pop up while shutting down my system for the day. Any idea what it is or why this happens?

I swear it started after the last update from MS, I am not 100% sure but my laptop and desktop both do it and I loaded in the downloads from MS on both.
Only happens when shutting down and the window comes back 3 to 4 times at times.

Thanks
Steve

Go into event viewer and look for anything related to the message.

Nothing related to my message at all. I looked in System area along with all others.
Weird I get the same message on 2 systems and they both started within a day of eachother.
Around the same time I updated MS... there was an auto update.

Thanks
Steve

Could try to uninstall the last update and see if that fixes anything.

Have you recently installed an HP product such as a printer? I have just begun to see the same message on shutdown, just like you it occurs on both my laptop and PC. I have not been able to isolate the problem yet.

Yes I did, I added an all in one C8180. The software sucks...
Here is what is happening.. The printer is there then the next day it's gone... I download some fixes and they screw up somewhere else... I just downloaded a new install.... lets see what surprise I have tomorrow.
Let me know if you find any solutions and I will do the same...
Oh save your time and forget about calling HP... You get some guy Bill in India and all he wants to do is sell you ink and paper... they are a hoot!

Device IO Notification Window

This is an issue related to HP Digital Imaging Monitor, which comes with most HP inkjet printers/all-in-ones. You may have noticed the error only after running an update from HP, but in some cases the software is glitched directly from HP (particularly with wireless printers). I have seen only a few workable solutions:

1) Check in MSconfig (start, run, msconfig) for the startup program named "HPZtsb04" (or something similar) and de-select it for startup. I'm not sure what part of the program this is, but the solution seems to work to solve a number of issues including BSoD's and sudden shut-downs.
2) You could try updating the software or driver from HP. They may have the issue fixed by the time you read this. Note: full HP software downloads may be 100MB+
3) If you don't have the HPZtsb04 file in your startup, your only option may be to disable the Digital Imaging Monitor software. Printing should still work, and scanning should still work via Windows drivers, but I'm not sure about wireless printing and advanced features.

If anyone has a better solution(s), I'd be psyched to hear about it.

Good luck!

You can also try solving this problem by updating HP software. Click on the solution center icon either on the desktop or the tray. Then click on help and support. Click on software update. Check all the updates and let them download. Fixed for me on all 3 computers.

Same thing

I ran into the same issue. What I found is the HP Updater software causing it.

Device IO Notification on Shutdown

I was reading the thread on this problem and I have the exact same situation. I recently purchased an HP C7250 All-in-one series.

Has anyone found an adequate solution or update from HP as of yet?

Thanks
AH
