Old laptop optimising XP for performance?
Hi all, I've got a 4 yr old laptop (1.6PM, 40G HDD, 512 RAM) on which I do a re-install of XP from time to time as it just gets so slow. Last time I did it I found a great guide (on here?) about how to configure things so that it started and ran quickly. The list suggested stuff like getting rid of unwanted startup processes and turning off some of the XP visual effects, etc etc.
Can anyone help by guiding me to a link or website with some good info? Thanks, Flash. |

I think you might be looking for blackviper.com he has a xp services list of whats safe to disable etc.
