I just got office 2007, should I install sp3?

Are you talking about SP3 for XP? If so, I would say a resounding NO! SP3 for XP was only recently released in Beta and won't be ready for the general public until 2nd qtr 08. You're already adding a new program with Office 07. Why throw a Beta Sevice Pack in the mix and make any troubleshooting a big nightmare?

Here is my standard advice regarding *ANY* major service packs.

1. Wait till it's out of beta and the FINAL release is issued.

2. Wait at least 2 more weeks and pay attention to the forums - you WILL see a lot of bugs reported. If you are willing to deal with them, or you are confident that none apply to you, then install it.

3. Before installing, do malware scans, a THOROUGH system cleanup and maintenance and save a fresh restore point.

4. Disable ALL antimalware running in the background, and terminate as many background processes as you can. You want the systray as clear of icons as you can without shutting down stuff essential for operation.
